On Saturday, July 4, 2020, President Trump signed into law a bill to extend the Paycheck Protection Program another 5 weeks. There is approximately $130 billion in loan money still available to small businesses through this program.

Here is a collection of articles we've found that best explain the details of this extension:

- Forbes: [Trump Signs PPP Extension Bill-Giving Small Businesses Another 5 Weeks](https://www.forbes.com/sites/sarahhansen/2020/07/04/trump-signs-ppp-extension-bill-giving-small-businesses-another-5-weeks/#70205fa59bff)

- Newsweek: [What the PPP Extension Bill Trump Signed Means for Small Businesses](https://www.newsweek.com/what-ppp-extension-bill-trump-signed-means-small-businesses-1515511)

This now means that small businesses that have not already applied and received funds can now apply for PPP benefits before the new August 8 deadline.
